Indoor space

Our finished basement houses our indoor preschool activities. This space was custom designed as a preschool and offers everything we need throughout the day. It offers a home-like, calming environment full of natural light. the space invites children to explore, create, pretend, and experience. These invitations to play are changed seasonally, for children's interests, and to highlight specific learning themes.  children have open access to mixed media art supplies, open-ended toys, educational games, and loose parts to create whatever they can imagine.

Outdoor

The yard surrounding our home offers seasonal vegetable and flower gardens. There we plant seeds, tend the soil, observe growth patterns, taste our hand-grown foods, make bouquets, and more.

adjacent to our home we have several acres of natural spaces. Here we raise chickens and have a small orchard. As a class we observe the fruit trees change with the seasons, enjoy the fruit from the orchard, and learn to care for our animals. One of our favorite spaces is the outdoor mud kitchen.

These acres also offer us room to roam. We spend much time exploring the grasslands, wetlands, woods, and wildlife.

*Our lands are certified by the national wildlife federation as a schoolyard habitat. This certifies that we have transformed our land into a thriving wildlife habitat that provides essential elements needed by all wildlife – natural food sources, clean water, and cover and places to raise young. *
